The current season of Fortnite, which is Chapter Four Fortnite OG, will soon end with the Big Bang event. Since it is already December, players are expecting the Winterfest to start soon. However, what is interesting is there are many things already leaked about it, from its release date to possible rewards. So without further ado, here is everything you should know about the Winterfest 2023 event of Fortnite on when it will start and what is new in it.
Winterfest is nothing but a holiday-themed event in Fortnite. During it, the game gives players free presents which they can open by logging in daily, these include gifts like free wraps, emotes, outfits, and more. The event usually starts anytime in the middle of December and can run till January.
According to Shiina, a popular Fortnite leaker:
v28.01 will be released in Mid-December and has the Winterfest content
You can check out her tweet here. Now, matching this information with last year’s Winterfest it is safe to assume the event to start either on December 13, 2023, or December 15, 2023, at 9 AM ET.
However, another leaker HpyeX suggest,
Fortnite Winterfest begins on December 3rd (Chapter 5), starting with the Item Shop.

There isn’t any official news or leaks available on what the possible rewards are gonna be for this year’s Winterfest event. However, one of the popular speculations is that we might be getting a Christmas tree version of the “Guff Gringle” outfit. You can see this on the poster next to the tree in last year’s trailer of Winterfest 2022. Do note that these aren’t official and were just found as teasers in a survey.
