FIFA 23 Will Be Free-To-Play, According To A FIFA Leaker

As it is already known, Konami decided to switch to the free-to-play model for the PES series and at the same time to use a new name called eFootball. According to a supposed insider now, EA Sports and Electronic Arts are planning a similar move by making the next installment of Fifa 23 free-to-play.

FIFA 23 to be free-to-play

During the last week, Konami made an announcement that shook the world of football games to its foundations. The publisher has announced that PES 2022 will be renamed eFootball, and will officially become free-to-play. Players will only have to pay for popular offline modes such as the Master League.

And today, it seems that Electronic Arts thinks that’s a brilliant idea from its major competitor. The well-known FIFA leaker and insider Donk, who has regularly been right with rumors and leaks on the soccer franchise, reports via Twitter that FIFA 23 will also be a free-to-play game.

In addition, the future title will also have crossplay, so that players on all platforms can play together. This is striking news, because FIFA 22 does not have crossplay, yet.

Before it comes to the release of FIFA 23, EA will of course first come up with FIFA 22. The new title will be released on October 1st and will bring a number of features to take realism to the next level, with HyperMotion being the biggest addition. They have been working on it for a while and it actually has a positive impact on the gameplay of FIFA 22.

It is therefore unfortunate to see that HyperMotion will only be in the next-gen version of the game. Even the PC version of FIFA 22 isn’t going to get HyperMotion. So if you want to play the best version of the title, it is definitely recommended to get the PS5 or Xbox Series X version.
