Assassin’s Creed Mirage Features a ‘Nostalgic’ Blue Filter or Mode

From the first moment it was leaked online, Assassin’s Creed Mirage has always given the feeling of wanting to be the heir to the first game in the Assassin’s Creed saga, which in 2007 made us take on the role of Altair. This was later confirmed once we saw the game up close officially, since not only will we find ourselves in a Middle Eastern setting, but we will have a more collected approach than the recent open worlds; and, it has been confirmed, a return in a big way to parkour mechanics too, along with a ‘nostalgic’ blue filter. Check out all the details below.

Ubisoft is planning to put a special blue filter in the graphics options of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which will make the game world gain a characteristic, bluish tint, known from the first part of the series.

According to all announcements and promises of Ubisoft, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is to take players to the roots of the series. The recently released video material showing the development of the game also deals with a “return to the past” – including elements so characteristic of the beginning of the series as parkour, stealth kills, and stealth.

This is a big change from the previous part, in which the developers put much more emphasis on open combat, apparently recognizing that the assassin’s style does not fit the stories about the Vikings and the inhabitants of the Nordic countries.

However, this is not all the game developers want to treat the fans of the series, who may have decided at some point that Assassin’s Creed is no longer for them. The material presents a “nostalgic” graphic filter that will make Baghdad and its surroundings take on a characteristic, slightly “washed-out”, blue-gray hue.

In this way, the creators want to achieve an effect similar to what we saw in the first part of the series. You can see the full new trailer and the filter in action below:

Assassin’s Creed Mirage will allow players to control the steps of Basim, whom we met in Valhalla, but instead of snowy settings, he will be exploring the Middle East, and in particular the aforementioned Baghdad. The plot of the game, however, is to take place much earlier than the events we know from Valhalla – back in Basim’s youth.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage will release on October 12 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One and PC. We should also get to know more details about the game at the Ubisoft Forward show, which is scheduled for June 12.
