Assassin’s Creed Infinity Still Offers Single-Player; At Least Three Years Away from Release

After the rumor about the new Assassins Creed Infinity was confirmed yesterday by Ubisoft itself, the fans of the saga seem to have been displaced due to the implementation of live game services in the title.

Assassin’s Creed Infinity leaked yesterday thanks to a report by Jason Schreier of Bloomberg, then made official by Ubisoft. Recently, through his Twitter account, it was Schreier himself who shed light on fans, who were wondering what would happen after Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

First of all, the journalist reassured that this turning point, according to what he learned, will not mean a farewell to the single-player mode. “No, not necessarily. It’ll just be part of AC Infinite. Details are still in flux because it’s so early in development, but the core idea is that Infinite is an evolving hub for all things AC,” he commented on Twitter.

Schreier further added that “It’s important to note that we’re at least three years away from this thing coming out. Details are still up in the air. But the core idea is that Infinity is a massive online platform containing different settings and games. Dunno if or how multiplayer plays a role.”

In this process, “the whole platform being Helix/Abstergo related,” which means that the hub will still be justified from a narrative point of view.

He then closed by explaining that there will be no other Assassin’s Creed before Infinity from Ubisoft Quebec, while it is unclear if there will be other studios involved.

Meanwhile, the last chapter, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, will continue to grow and at least one additional Norse-themed expansion is planned.
