Yesterday evening Electronic Arts officially announced the ongoing work on the remake of Dead Space. An announcement that gives American McGee the hope that a new Alice game could celebrate a comeback sooner or later.
As confirmed by several sources in the run-up to the event, Electronic Arts used yesterday’s EA Play Live 2021 event to officially announce the remake of Dead Space.
An announcement that, of course, American McGee also took note of and very benevolently, as he explained in a recent tweet. According to American McGee, the announcement made it clear that Electronic Arts is definitely willing to bring back older games. So hopes that the Alice game could celebrate a comeback at some point.
In that sense, American McGee said the following: “While I (and Alice fans) would have liked the next EA horror project to be a new “Alice” game… this does at least move us forward in line. At some point in the future, execs at EA will shout “need moar product!” and someone will reply, “Alice?” And we’ll be ready!”
Incidentally, statements of this kind are not new. In the past few years, American McGee has spoken out repeatedly with the request for a new Alice game and tried to get the community involved. So he called on the supporters to campaign for a successor to Alice: Madness Returns at Electronic Arts.
